ZR-6 Utility Software User Guide
The ZR-6 Utility Software is used to update the operating firmware of a ZR-6 MultiZone Receiver and its connected keypads. This insures that the system is operating with the newest features and incorporates all the latest fixes.
The ZR-6 Utility Software also enables you to save the ZR-6 MultiZone Receiver’s configuration, source, and library data for later use, and to transfer the data to another ZR-6 system.
Downloading and Installing the ZR-6 Utility Software
Go to www.nilesaudio.com. Select Support and download the ZR-6 Utility Software to your
computer.
Double-click the ZR-6 UtilitySoftware.exe icon to install the software and place a shortcut on your desktop. It is
recommended that you accept the Default File Location.
Saving a ZR-6 Configuration to your Computer
Double-click the ZR-6 Utility Software icon.
The welcome page will instruct you how to connect your computer to the
ZR-6.
Select which COM port you will use to connect to the ZR-6. Automatic is recommended. Click Next.
Select Save the
current configuration to your computer. Click Next.
Select which data you want to save. You can select All data, or just the
Configuration, Library or Source data.
Create a name for the data. Click Save.
Select additional data to save, or click
Back to return to the main setup screen.
Transferring a Previously Saved Configuration to a ZR-6
Follow steps 1–3 from Saving a Current ZR-6 Configuration to your Computer.
Select Transfer a previously saved
configuration to a ZR-6. Click Next.
Select which data to transfer. Click Next.
From the data folder, select the file to
transfer. Click Open.
The data will be transferred to the connected ZR-6.
Select additional data to transfer, or click
Back to return to the main setup screen.
Updating ZR-6 Firmware
Follow steps 1–3 from Saving a Current ZR-6 Configuration to your Computer.
Select Update the firmware. Click Next.
A
list will appear with all connected devices, their zones and firmware revisions. Hold the CTRL key and click to deselect a device
you do not want to update. Click Next.
Follow the instructions on the Firmware Update Complete screen. Click Next to continue,
or Exit to quit.
When finished, remember to place the front panel switch back to the Normal Mode.
